Steers

Steers

97% are from meat British breeds, Hereford or Aberdeen Angus and its crossbreeds. About 90% of the steers sent to slaughter are grassfed finished with grass whose carcass weight average 260 kg.

More of 90% of the steers are young animals from 0 to 2 and 4 teeth, which determines, to a large extent, the excellent quality of the meat. The slaughter performance (live weight/carcass weight) is about 54%. The fat cover levels and the carcass configuration fulfill the requirements of the clients concerning the characteristics of meat British breeds and a suitable rearing process, finishing and shipment release protocols.

13% of the steers are sent to slaughter from fattening pens, mainly for specific destinations as HQB 481 meat production.
